RECREATION AREA
A resting area offers cyclists a place to take a break, eat their own food, and rest while traveling on a bike path, ideally in a scenic environment. It should be situated either next to the bike path or within a distance of 1,600 ft, clearly visible or indicated by signs. Resting areas are usually spaced at even intervals on long bike paths, especially in non-urban areas. It is preferable for cyclists to have the chance to relax and have a meal in pleasant surroundings, whether in urban or rural areas, approximately every 10 miles.
